Making the CASE for Shared Decision Making in OUD Care: A National Case-Based Discussion with Community & Clinical Experts

Join us on March 9th from 1:00-2:30pm EST as we bring together an interdisciplinary group of substance use experts to work through a clinical case for Opioid Use Disorder care. In this hour and a half webinar, clinicians and community experts will explore, debate, and collaborate on ways to meet both the patient’s and provider’s concerns for shared decision making in OUD care and treatment.

Led by two accomplished moderators Natasha Touesnard and Emma Garrod, the group of community subject experts Matthew Bonn, Iye Sanneh, and Frank Crichlow, and clinicians Jac Atkinson, Dr. Monty Ghosh, and Dr. Alana Hirsh, will discuss how to best approach and enhance a patient’s treatment and overall management of opioid use disorder by highlighting flexibility and person-centered approaches to care.

Optimizing Flexible Models of Care for OUD in Ontario - Clinical Roundtable Discussion

Hosted by CRISM in collaboration with the CRISM Ontario node, this roundtable webinar aims to regroup clinicians in a discussion on the implementation and expansion of flexible models of care for the clinical management and treatment of prescription opioid use disorder. In this session, we will hear from OPTIMA clinician Dr. Nikki Bozinoff and a multidisciplinary group of expert including physicians Dr. Wiplove Lamba, Dr. Claire Bodkin, nurse practitioner Mae Katt, and pharmacist Mark Barnes.

After outlining the findings of the national OPTIMA trial, which ran from 2017-2020, this multidisciplinary panel of clinicians will discuss some of the key considerations, barriers, benefits, and experiences around the practice and prescription of take-home doses of OAT, such as with BUP/NAL, in the context of Ontario. Through this discussion, the panel will explore next steps on how to optimize and expand flexible models of care and patient-clinician shared decision-making for OAT in clinical practice.

Hosted by CRISM in collaboration with the CRISM Atlantic node, this roundtable webinar aims to regroup clinicians in a discussion on the implementation and expansion of flexible models of care for the clinical management and treatment of prescription opioid use disorder. Moderated by Dr. Tommy Brothers, we will hear from OPTIMA researcher Dr. Sherry Stewart and a multidisciplinary group of expert clinicians including physicians Dr. Sara Davidson, Dr. Bruce Hollett, and nurse Sharon MacKenzie.

Optimiser les modèles de soins flexibles pour la gestion clinique des troubles liés à l’usage d’opioïdes: Table ronde clinique

Organisé par l’Initiative canadienne de recherche sur l’abus de substances (CRISM-ICRAS) en collaboration avec le pôle CRISM-ICRAS Québec-Atlantique et le CHUM, ce webinaire vise à regrouper les cliniciens dans une discussion sur la mise en œuvre et l'optimisation de modèles de soins flexibles pour la gestion clinique et le traitement des troubles liés à l’usage des opioïdes sur ordonnance. Nous entendrons un groupe multidisciplinaire de cliniciens experts, dont le chercheur Dr. Didier Jutras-Aswad, les médecins Dr. Suzanne Brissette et Dr. Marie-Ève Goyer, le pharmacien Pierre-Benoît Tremblay, et l’infirmière Isabelle Tetu, avec la modératrice Julie Charbonneau.

Après avoir présenté les résultats de l'essai national OPTIMA, qui s'est déroulé de 2017 à 2020, ce panel multidisciplinaire de cliniciens discutera des facteurs principaux, des obstacles, et les avantages entourant la prescription de doses de TAO non-supervisées, comme dans le traitement BUP/NX, dans le contexte du Québec. Lors de cette discussion, le panel explorera les prochaines étapes pour optimiser et élargir les modèles de soins flexibles pour le TAO dans la pratique clinique.

Expanding Flexible Models of Care for OUD in BC - Roundtable Discussion

The OPTIMA Trial webinar series aims to regroup clinicians of all backgrounds in an interactive discussion on the implementation and expansion of flexible models of care for OUD. The first regional roundtable on December 1st at 12pm PST will be hosted in BC! We will hear from a multidisciplinary group of expert clinicians including Dr. Eugenia Socias, Dr. Alana Hirsh, Dr. Paxton Bach, Mona Kwong, Emma Garrod and Zachary Matieschyn. Moderated by: Sam Robinson.
